Today, we went beyond the classroom with our students; we got to know, touched, and smelled a tiny sage seedling.
Each student planted their own sage seedling in a pot, watered it, and placed their new friend in their bag to take home.
What did we learn with our instructor, Agricultural Engineer Necla Dal?
• The Journey of the Roots: Since sage roots love to cling to the soil and grow, we placed our seedlings in new pots where they can thrive and grow more easily.
• The Mystery of the Scent:
We discovered the wonderful scent that spreads when we touch its leaves.
• Proper Care: We learned the differences between dried and fresh sage, and where this miraculous plant is used in the kitchen and in health.
Now it's the students' turn! Each of them will share this knowledge with their families when they get home and will grow their own seedlings. We believe that generations who grow up knowing nature will make our future much more beautiful.
