10 YEARS DEDICATED TO EDUCATION AND NATURE: EGET FOUNDATION REMEMBERED WITH A CELEBRATION NIGHT

The EGET Foundation, established in 2015 in Muğla with the goal of providing access to education, living in harmony with nature, and producing social benefit, celebrated its 10th anniversary on July 25, 2025, with a special event held at the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The evening, which reviewed the foundation's ten-year journey, was marked by emotional moments and hopeful messages for the future.

The Evening Began with a Memory of Safai Özer

The event began with the National Anthem and a moment of silence. Following this, a reading of the poem "Eleven Owes Him a Debt" by Safai Özer, an architect and writer and one of the foundation's founders who recently passed away, created an emotional atmosphere in the hall. Participants commemorated the founder with applause.

Özlem Uzman: “We Built a Sustainable and Socially Responsible Structure”

In her corporate presentation, Özlem Uzman, Chairperson of the Foundation's Board of Directors, provided information about EGET Foundation's work in the field of education, the young people it supports with scholarships, and its sustainable projects. Uzman stated, “We believe that education is a tool for societal transformation, not just individual transformation. Therefore, we have established a structure that is in harmony with nature and environmentally conscious.”

Emotional Expressions and Gifts from Young People

During the program, the foundation's scholarship recipients also spoke, sharing their experiences with the EGET Foundation and the value it has added to their lives. Following the speeches, the students were presented with gifts consisting of natural products from the foundation's economic enterprise.

Messages of Support from Political and Local Administrators

Muğla Member of Parliament Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Özdağ and Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras, who attended the event, also made speeches praising the foundation's activities. Özdağ emphasized that the EGET Foundation contributes to the social fabric of society, while Köksal Aras stated that as a local government, they will continue to support such social initiatives.

EGET Foundation's Social Entrepreneurship Model Sets an Example

The EGET Foundation, which is not limited to scholarship support, stands out with its projects focusing on ecological agriculture, environmental education, healthy living, and social solidarity. Establishing a self-sustaining economic structure, the foundation carries out many activities through the EGET Foundation Economic Enterprise.

The foundation's projects include the Armutçuk Organic Farming Enterprise, lavender fields and a distillery, the EGET TEN natural cosmetics brand, internationally award-winning olive oil production, the Nature and Life Academy, ecology workshops for children, the Doorless Libraries Project, and EU-supported environmental education projects such as HEEFTA.

Large Participation Attracted Attention

The celebration program saw a large turnout. The event was attended by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, former mayors Osman Gürün and Bahattin Gümüş, NGO executives, representatives of professional chambers, members of political parties, and friends of EGET.

The program concluded with a musical performance by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Quartet Group, followed by a cocktail reception. Participants ended the evening with pleasant conversations.
