EGET FOUNDATION CELEBRATED ITS ANNIVERSARY

The EGET Foundation, which operates with the principles of access to education, ecological living, and social benefit, celebrated its 10th anniversary with a meaningful event held at the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Known for its education and nature-friendly projects, the EGET Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary on July 25, 2025, with a special event held at the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Founded in 2015 with the principle of "Education from the Aegean," the foundation has not only provided scholarships over the past 10 years but has also developed a sustainable social benefit model by operating in many areas, from ecological agriculture and environmental education to children's publications and social entrepreneurship.

The Evening Began with a Memory of Safaî Özer

The event began with the National Anthem and a moment of silence. Following this, the poem "Eleven Owe Him a Debt," written by Safaî Özer, an architect and writer who was one of the foundation's founders and recently passed away, was played in Özer's own voice. These moments created an emotional atmosphere in the hall.

Özlem Uzman's 10-Year Review

Özlem Uzman, Chairperson of the EGET Foundation Board of Directors, summarized the foundation's ten-year journey in her presentation. Highlighting that education is critical for both individual and societal transformation, Uzman emphasized that they have built a structure in harmony with nature and based on the benefit of society, together with young people.

The Voices of Young People Were Heard

Scholarship students also spoke at the event, describing their connection with the foundation and the achievements they have gained. Following the speeches, the students were given gifts consisting of natural products from the EGET Foundation's Economic Enterprise.

Messages of Support from Participants

Muğla Member of Parliament Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Özdağ and Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras also gave speeches at the event. Highlighting the importance of EGET Foundation's contribution to social benefit, those present expressed their appreciation for the foundation's work.

Holistic Social Entrepreneurship Model

In addition to scholarship support, EGET Foundation has implemented numerous projects including the Armutçuk Organic Farming Enterprise, a lavender field, EGET TEN cosmetic products, award-winning olive oil production, the "Libraries Without Doors" Project, ecology workshops for children, the HEEFTA environmental education project, and social runs organized with the Adım Adım Platform.

This sustainable model of the foundation both supports environmentally friendly production and strengthens the scholarship fund with the income generated.

Widely Attended Celebration

The event was attended by Muğla Member of Parliament Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Özdağ, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, Menteşe Municipality Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras, former Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Gürün, former Menteşe Municipality Mayor Bahattin Gümüş, and numerous representatives from political, civil society, and professional organizations.
