EGET Foundation, which works for good, will participate in the Bodrum Half Marathon, bringing hope to the education of young people and a breath of fresh air to nature…
The Bodrum Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 5th (tomorrow) with the participation of 2,150 athletes from 24 countries. Runners will compete in 21K, 10K and 5K courses.
EGET Foundation, established to provide scholarships to young people who cannot continue their education due to financial difficulties, will participate in the Bodrum Half Marathon with the slogan "Hope for Young People, Breath of Fresh Air for Nature".
Özlem Uzman, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the EGET Foundation, which supports ecological agriculture, explained the scholarship system developed by the foundation to ensure equal opportunities in education in an interview with Bodrum Sokak TV:
“We fully embrace Atatürk's words, ‘It is education that either allows a nation to live as a free, glorious, and advanced society, or abandons it to slavery and misery,’ and we do not accept the plight of a student who cannot continue their education due to lack of education. Therefore, with the scholarship evaluation system we developed, we have been providing scholarships to students since 2016.
We evaluate applications with a completely transparent software, without granting any privileges to any student. Students repay the scholarship amount in installments after completing their education and starting their careers.”
All Income Goes to Students!
Chairperson Özlem Uzman emphasized the importance of the Bodrum Half Marathon for the foundation with these words:
By participating in the race, we want to provide scholarships for young people and give nature a breath of fresh air. Many of our runners will be running on behalf of the EGET Foundation, and the proceeds will be entirely donated to students as scholarships. All donations are used for this purpose. Those who wish to run for any organization in tomorrow's Bodrum Marathon can do so on behalf of the EGET Foundation. We welcome everyone to our stand.”
Highlighting the foundation's work in ecological farming and natural products, Uzman stated,
“The EGET Foundation's Economic Enterprise established the first lavender field in coastal cities and Muğla's first organically certified distillation unit. We have cosmetic products such as lavender oil shampoo, liquid soap, and tonic, as well as five internationally award-winning olive oils. All proceeds from these products are donated to student scholarships.”
The EGET Foundation stand, located in Bodrum Municipality Square, awaits visitors to promote the foundation and its natural products.
